Well what can I say! Amanda and I wanted to keep this a secret, but how can we. We take our hats off to our wonderful hosts Pauline and Neil who have created the experience of living out near the woods! Our Shepherd’s hut came styled with a kitchen and log burner dining area, and a veranda for alfresco dining; the log burner came with logs supplied and warmed our comfortable pad within minutes! The shower room was superb, and to have a great night’s sleep with the odd Twit Twoo was “Perfick!” ………..Don’t forget the the best pub in the New Forest is just across the paddock!

There is no better way to experience The New Forest than in the 5 Star luxury that is The Royal Oak’s shepherds’ huts.

They are so warm and cosy, courtesy of the great wood burning stoves, that leaving them is extremely difficult. Even the prospect of a fine ale, drawn straight from the barrel, in the best pub in The Forest, almost failed!

We’ve stayed twice, and loved both experiences. The high quality finishings and attention to detail are perfect; Neil and Pauline have forgotten nothing.

And the icing on the cake is waking up to the most delightful view of The Forest, through the window by the bed. Coffee in bed has never been so enjoyable.

We can’t wait to go back…

I stayed in one of the little huts for a weekend with my wife, the view was fantastic, waking up to a cosy wood burner in the morning, coffee on the terrace watching the new forest wildlife, cows in the field, very comfortable bed, cooking facilities, lovely bathroom, very cosy little place, as good as a 5* hotel room, will recommend to anyone 10/10!
